Firearm Purchases Through Other Dealers (to be transferred through Naples Gun Shop)

If you purchased a firearm from somewhere else, we can receive the transfer for you with the following in mind.

NGS Receiving Requirements

  • FFLs/Firearm Dealers: Must include a copy of their current FFL inside the shipment. They should be aware of this legal requirement.
  • Private Sellers / Non-FFL Holders: We will accept shipments from non-FFL individuals. The shipment must include a front and back copy of the seller’s current driver’s license. The license must show their current residential address and back bar/2D codes. Have this copy place inside the package.  

Due to the frequent issues involving incomplete paperwork, missing information, and improper packaging from non-FFL shipments, a $10 additional processing fee will apply to all firearms received from private sellers/non-FFL holders. This same fee will be applied should your shipper not include the legally required information in the package.

Transfer Processing & Pickup

While phone calls are welcome, we strongly prefer communication by email whenever possible. To help expedite processing, please include your full name and phone number in all correspondence, even if you have previously purchased firearms or completed transfers with us. Before calling or emailing us about the firearm you had shipped in, take note of the following:

Please note:

  • Firearms are available for pickup only after you have been contacted by Naples Gun Shop.
  • Delivery notifications from UPS, FedEx, or USPS do not mean the firearm is ready for pickup as there are legally-required processes that must be completed.
  • Transfers are processed in the order received.
  • Processing may take up to 1–2 business days, although most transfers are processed the same day they arrive.

You will be contacted by the phone number included in the package once your firearm is ready for transfer. Please make sure YOUR LEGAL NAME and PHONE NUMBER are included in the box with the firearm.

Transfer Hours

Firearm transfers are generally available for pickup:

Monday – Friday
9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
We stop processing backgrounds at 5:30 PM each day.

Storage Policy

Naples Gun Shop is not a storage facility.

Transferred firearms will be held for three weeks from the date of receipt at no additional charge. After that period, a storage fee of $40 per firearm for each additional three-week period will apply.

Outbound Firearm Shipping

We can ship your handgun, rifle, shotgun and/or NFA item to another licensed FFL/NFA dealer. All FFL licenses are verified prior to shipment. Please bring a copy (or have them email FFL@NaplesGunShop.net) a copy of the receiving dealer’s FFL (Federal Firearms License) PRIOR to bringing the firearm in for shipment. We normally ship firearms Mon-Fri 9am-3:30pm. At this time, we do not ship firearms to California, Washington state, Washington DC, or New York. We do not ship ammunition to other FFLs.

Legal Notice

You are responsible for knowing and understanding all current Federal & Florida laws regarding firearms and firearm transfers/purchases.  By acceptance of the transferred or purchased item(s), you acknowledge and agree that Lockdown LLC d/b/a Naples Gun Shop shall have no liability to the customer, or any other person whatsoever for any claim, loss, damage or expense arising from handling, use, display, shipping or storage of any firearm.

Identification Requirements:

To purchase a firearm in Florida (FL), one must:

  • be at least 21 years of age for ANY firearm or frame/receiver purchase.
  • have a valid State of Florida Drivers License/Identification Card & State of Florida Concealed Weapons & Firearms License to receive any HANDGUN instantly. Without the Concealed Weapons License, there will be a 3 business day wait beginning on the next business day after you paid us for the item/transfer.
  • have a valid Drivers License/Identification Card (from any state) & State of Florida Concealed Weapons & Firearms License to receive any RIFLE or SHOTGUN (provided it is legal in your state of residence) instantly. Without the FL Concealed Weapons License, there will be a 3 business day wait beginning on the next business day after you have paid us for the item/transfer..
  • The Drivers License/Identification card MUST display current residential address. Per federal law, mail box addresses, RV lots & boat slips are not acceptable.
  • If a Permanent US Resident, one must bring their actual Green Card.
  • If a FL resident does not have a Drivers License/ID card with a current FL residential address displayed, a current FL Voter ID card, the most recent FL Residential Property Tax bill displaying their name (NOT A TRUST, ESTATE or BUSINESS), or a FL motor vehicle registration containing their name (NOT A TRUST, ESTATE or BUSINESS) and FL address may be accepted WITH a current government-issued ID or DL. This applies to both part-time and full-time FL residents.

PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT PRIOR TO RECEIVING OR PURCHASING ANY FIREARM, A NATIONAL INSTANT CRIMINAL CHECK WILL BE CONDUCTED.  You may be subject to arrest by falsifying the federal form as it is a federal crime.

United States Federal & Florida Law Requirements regarding firearms:

  1. You are the actual buyer of the firearm and not purchasing for someone else.
  2. You are at least 21 (twenty-one) years or older to purchase/receive any firearm in Florida.
  3. You cannot be under indictment in any court for a felony or any other crime which would imprison you for more than a year.
  4. You are not a convicted felon.
  5. You are not a fugitive from justice.
  6. You are not an unlawful user (OR A MEDICAL USER) of or addicted to marijuana or any depressant, stimulant, or narcotic drug or any other controlled substance. YOU CANNOT POSSESS A MEDICAL MARIJUANA CARD.
  7. You have not been adjudicated mentally defective or have been committed to a mental institution.
  8. You have not been discharged from the armed forces under dishonorable conditions.
  9. You are not subject to a court order restraining you from harassing, stalking, or threatening your child or a domestic partner or child of such partner.
  10. You have never been convicted in any court of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence.
  11. You have not been convicted of a drug offense. If so, you have completed all your legal obligations more than 3 years ago.
  12. You have never renounced your United States citizenship.
  13. You are not an alien illegally in the United States.

Additionally, due to current laws and potential liability, Naples Gun Shop will not ship firearms to the following states: California, Hawaii, New York and Washington state, as well as certain counties in Illinois.  We cannot ship outside of the USA.

IMPORTANT NOTES REGARDING ONLINE GUN TRANSFERS NOT BOUGHT FROM NAPLES GUN SHOP:

  • If you’ve purchased a firearm from someone other than Naples Gun Shop, there is a very high chance the retailer already has our license on file. If purchased via GunBroker, the seller can get our license directly from GunBroker. If your seller does not have our license, have visit www.NaplesGunShop.net/FFL.
  • The ONLY phone number we have is 239-300-0891. Any other phone number claiming to be Naples Gun Shop is fraudulent.
  • BOTH our mailing and physical address is 327 AIRPORT ROAD N., NAPLES, FL 34104. This is the ONLY address we accept/ship firearms from AND the ONLY address we use for sending/receiving US Mail, FedEx, and UPS. Anyone may verify a valid FFL by visiting the ATF’s EZ FFL Check system HERE.
  • We DO NOT USE A PAYPAL/ZELLE/VENMO (etc.) ACCOUNT for any firearms-related business, and do not accept Money Orders or checks for sales. We are a legitimate business with a merchant credit card processor. All online credit card transactions must use the card holder’s billing address and will be verified by our processor’s AVS to combat fraud.
  • There will be an up-charge assessed at time of pickup should we have had to chase down your seller to obtain WHO it is for, WHAT they shipped us (if not obvious) or if they did not send their FFL in the box (as required by law). PLEASE ask your seller to include this information to save you time and money.
  • To help prevent FFL fraud, we RECORD all IP address that visit our website. Any instance of FFL fraud detected will result in our forwarding all information to the ATF.
